THE STORY BEHIND THE FIBER

Why Royal Alpaca

6,000 years of natural engineering. One fiber. Zero compromise.

The Origin

For years, we studied how Royal Alpaca survives the extreme shifts of the Altiplano. We realized that if this fiber could keep an animal perfectly regulated through bitter cold and scorching sun, it was the only choice for a man's daily life.

We don't just sell underwear — we provide high-altitude engineering for your most sensitive environment.

The Fiber

The Peruvian Altiplano sits at 4,000 meters above sea level — a high-desert plateau where temperatures swing 30°C between day and night. For millennia, the Royal Alpaca evolved here, developing the world's most sophisticated natural fiber: hollow-core, ultra-fine (<18 microns), and thermally adaptive.

While merino wool traps heat and cotton stagnates moisture, Alpaca fiber responds — expanding to cool, contracting to insulate. It's not just soft. It's biological engineering, perfected over 6,000 years.

Hollow-Core

Each fiber contains microscopic air pockets that naturally regulate temperature and wick moisture.

Ultra-Fine

Under 18 microns — finer than cashmere. Only the top 8% of alpaca fiber qualifies as Royal grade.

100% Natural

Zero plastic, zero synthetic. Every fiber that touches your skin is organic and biodegradable.

The Craft

We work with fourth-generation herders in Puno, Peru, who hand-shear once annually during the dry season. The fiber is sorted by micron count — only the top 8% qualifies as Royal — then transported to a GOTS-certified mill in Arequipa.

There, it's blended with Tencel™ — a silky cellulose fiber made from sustainably harvested wood pulp. The result is a 15/85 blend that pairs Royal Alpaca's luxury softness with Tencel's breathable moisture control. Two 100% natural fibers, zero plastic, zero compromise.

Experience the Difference

Once you feel Royal Alpaca, everything else feels like a compromise.
